We had a national disaster here in Houston, and these ditech clowns send out notices stating they were here to help. So they offered folks 3 months off from paying mortgages to help with i.e.

Insurance claims and rebuilding, then after that they offered another extension. So on the 6th month they send out a letter saying we have to come up with 6 months mortgage or we will risk foreclosure. Confusing as it was, we were told that the fine print stated after the 6th month all monies owe will become due. I thought would after a hurricane will have 16k just laying around?

So it seems that was the plan all along, then they offered a loan mitigation. Offering a 40 year repay with your loan. So I only had 9 years left, as I tried to explain this to them, they were offended I didn't want it. I made extra payments that weren't applied to my account and were just sitting in a funds supsended account, what these clowns didn't count on was me aggressively paying my account back to normal.

Every time I call they played the same game and kept asking my why I don't want it? Then once I got under 90 days they were sending statement for future payments for months 4 weeks away trying to make it look like I was very far behind. I kept on dropping payments every week, used tax money everything I could get. These crooks then got mad saying if I don't accept the loan mitigation that they will ever offer it to me again ever.

Then the next week I'd call and make a payment, they ask the same thing like why you don't want it. One lady got mad because I wouldn't answer her question about why I didn't want it. So finally got the last payment in and these clowns tried to charge me a over the phone fee, granted you could make a payment online because they lock out the payment amount and the only way you can do it is pay like the whole balance for like 2 or 3 months. If you sent in payment they stuck it in a suspense account.

I never chose these retards I had GMAC which sold out to Greentree which then partnered with ditech. If you ever have the chance to refi get away from these greedy idiots.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $320000.

Ditech Cons: Ditech.

The FEMA Declared Disaster Relief from Hurricane Harvey and Fannie Mae was offered by Ditech to defer payments up to six months. The Ditech reps I spoke to said it's a great deal and don't worry about the past due amounts showing up on your statements.

At the end of the six months I started paying my full mortgage amount again.A rep. called me and said the program was extended and told me not to pay the next month. Luckily, I did not do that. Then came paperwork requiring a full payback or an agreement to a modification changing my loan to 4o years.

40 YEARS!!! When I spoke to a rep, they said these were my options. Full payback or loan mod to 40 yrs. When I said that is not what I agreed to, they said it had changed.I did some research and there is an option that extends your loan for the 6 months without fees or interest.

It is called the Fannie Mae Cap and Extend Modification. When I asked for this, I was told I did not qualify. When I asked why I do not qualify, they could not give me the answer. After several lengthy holds, I was told that I should be careful because I may not be eligible and then I would have to pay the entire amount.

I asked what was the eligibility criteria and again, no answer. I found the info in a Lender Letter titled: To: All Fannie Mae Single-Family ServicersFannie Mae Extend Modification for Disaster Relief and OtherClarifications for Mortgage Loans Impacted by Disaster Eventshttps://www.fanniemae.com/content/announcement/ll1709.pdf
