I am a frustrated customer. I pay a fixed amount every month with the hope that the extra payment will be applied towards the principal.

ditech instead kept the additional amount separate called 'un-applied funds account'. In addition, there was an amount in the monthly statement called 'Fees and Charges' for which they have no explanation. When I called, the agent couldn't help at all except saying sorry 'our systems are going through upgrades and I cannot pull that information for you'. I asked if they could apply the funds in 'un-applied funds account', he said, he can put a note in the account but 'unfortunately, I cannot do anything currently as the systems are going through the upgrades'.

I really don't know what to do with this company. So unfortunate that Citibank sold my mortgage account to this company and I am very much frustrated.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Ditech Cons: Horrible customer service, No accountablity, Cannot pay home loan.

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Same issue here. How many of you are interested in pursuing class action law suite?

I am interested in seeking legal counsel! For years we made additional payments, hoping to pay down our mortgage.

And these additional payments were not applied to principal, yet returned to us via check at the end of the year as "Overpayment". I then mailed that amount right back to them.

Yes, same thing has happened to me twice. Despite making all payments they have not applied them properly and now are threatening me.

I'm calling them and hopefully they will do the math and fix it. Otherwise I may have to cause a serious issue for them in return.

Ditech Financial is a disgraceful mortgage servicer. In all my years I have never encountered anything like Ditech's blatant failure and refusal to honor reasonable customers' requests.

Ditech even refused to put a Borrower's name on a Form 1098 Mortgage Interest Payment tax form so the customer could deduct the mortgage interest the customer paid to Ditech on her income tax return. Ditech delights in frustrating its customers and causing them headaches and grief beyond belief.

Ditech is not a responsible mortgage loan servicer but more in the nature of a mortgage loan terrorist.
