BILLING PRACTICES/LYING CUSTOMER SERVICE
EVERY MONTH FOR THE PAST 6-MONTHS I'VE HAD TO CALL THEM BECAUSE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY STATMENTS TO MAKE A PAYMENT..ALWAYS SOME LYING EXCUSE..THE 5TH MONTH I WAS MORE THAN MAD,DEMANDED TO TALK TO A MANAGER THAT WOULD NOT TALK TO ME. ASSURED ME IT WOULD BE SENT OUT ON TIME FOR THIS MONTHS STATMENT WHICHES IS DUE ON THE 5TH I RECEIVED IT ON 2ND,I CALLED AGAIN SAME LIE IT WAS MAILED ON THE 16TH..THEY WOULD NOT LET ME MAKE A PAYMENT BY PHONE UNLESS I PAID A FEE...WHICH I REFUSED WHEN IT IS THEIR INCOMPETENT FAULT...THEY HAVE BAD PRACTICES,THEY LIE ALL THE TIME, RUDE..HOW WOULD I RATE THEM -50
Ditech screwed up and is making me pay for it
In 2015, I shopped around and found a less expensive homeowner's insurance policy. I called Ditech to switch to the new one and cancel the old one, and they assured me everything was taken care of. My monthly payment was adjusted and dropped considerably.
More than two years later, they hit me with a nearly $20,000 escrow shortage that they expected me to pay. I went over the last two years' escrow statements and projections and discovered they never cancelled the old policy and had been making payments on both policies, but charging me for only the new one.
Many emails and phone calls later, Ditech is refusing to take responsibility for the error and says my only recourse is to request a refund from the old insurance company, which of course is refusing, since they did nothing wrong.
Ditech says they sent a letter in 2016 advising me that I had two policies. I did go through my files and found that letter, but I recall that I dismissed it as a mistake because I was paying for only one policy and never expected that they would have neglected to cancel the old one. In retrospect, I should have called to ask what that letter meant, but I had no inkling that they screwed up.
Had they been charging me for both policies, I would have caught the error right away, but Ditech allowed the escrow shortage to grow for more than two years without my knowledge, before suddenly demanding nearly $20,000 in December 2017. Ditech says was my responsibility to catch the error, but there were no red flags for more than two years.

Consistent chaos in dealing with Ditech.
Failure to accurately post ALL mortgage payments. Placing mortgage payments into "suspense accounts" Alleging that payments were not received when account statement says it was received and posted on time.
Will not allow you to escalate concerns and complaints to a supervisor or manager for discussion and resolution. Way too many unethical practices with this mortgage company. No explanations provided when the company is contacted.
Failure to understand the terms and procedures for loan modification handled by the previous mortgage company that owned, authorized and fully processed a loan modification. It appears that the unethical practices and procedures encountered are intentional and therefore illegal.

Loan paid off 10 years ago and Lien on Moble Home Title never released!!
After my Moble home burned the insurance company required the Title to finalize the insurance pay out. That's when we found out the original loan in 1993 that has been paid off for Ten years still has a Lien on the Moble home Title.
It's now been a month and After contacting Two Ditech supervisors the Lien is still not released and they will not return calls.
Florida law requires timely lien release when the loan is satisfied but Ditech is above the law. We are held hostage by Ditech as we lost our home and can not rebuild without Home insurance payout which requires the Title of the mobile home signed over to them.

After filing a complaint with the Florida's State's Attorney funds are starting to be released.Still a difficult company to deal with in obtaining funds paid by the insurance company but slowly resolving the issue.
